Class H amps work like AB when signal is low so there is no difference from pure AB amps if you do not use full power. I disagree with your first post Matt especially the comment about D sounding like tubes. A 30 watt Class A amp will sound louder than a 30 watt Class AB amp.
Whats his opinion now. Class AB amplifiers may introduce some crossover distortion but they get closer to the ideal of Class A for most of its operating regime. A class D amplifier is more accurately described as an A-D-A where the device never outputs a distinguishable digital information streem.
